| The
StarTran Realtime Theory program is structured so that it can be used in a formal
classroom setting or on an individual study basis. Basic Theory teaches up to the level of
writing dense literary material. Advanced Theory is a direct continuation of Basic Theory,
but material is focused on the writing of court and deposition
proceedings. Together,
Basic and Advanced Theory should take between four and nine months to complete. The 40 Lessons of Basic and Advanced Theory
are augmented with Lesson Tapes, each 90 minutes of lesson practice followed by a Lesson
Test and ending with an optional Speed Challenge section. The entire practice section of
each tape can also be practiced in GlobalCAT interactive computer tutor format.
After the 32 lessons of Basic Theory
students should be writing between 50 and 70 wpm and could begin speedbuilding classes
concurrently with Advanced Theory or use their Advanced Theory book as the text for the
first speedbuilding class. Upon graduating from Advanced Theory students are
completely realtime ready and writing between 70 and 100 wpm. The

StarTran CAT dictionary and MedCAT dictionary are available for every StarTran Student.
The third book of the student Set is
the Reference Volume, which contains organized alphabetized cross-referenced listings of
the entire theory and more.
The Teacher's Manual contains drill
